I have been struggling with posting in English for quite some time. The argument is simple: I simply do not know how many readers of my blog need to read in English. The language of my blog has been Chinese from the beginning, so I would assume that all people who keep reading my blog understand Chinese. Otherwise, what keeps bringing them back to my blog? (My fabulous photos?)
But I do have friends who do not speak Chinese. (Well, if I have stayed in Europe for almost 7 years, and I don't have any non-Chinese speaking friends, wouldn't that be an awful thing?) And it would be a nice thing if they also know some other part of Bryan. Well, I am not God Almighty, so I do not assume anyone building up a Babel tower to have a sneak peek of my life. (Well, if there is any, do let me know! My realm is lack of visitors these days!) But a life with something to share (with friends) is blessed, as I believe. So, maybe I should also work on the English part a bit.
Of course, my English is not as good as my Chinese. But I think I can communicate it well, apart from some slang that I'd never get to understand. Anyway, if you'd like to see some English part on my blog, leave a message. I would like to know who is interested.
Don't ask me why I don't start another blog in English. If you know how much effort one has to give to keep one blog alive and running, you'd be surprised! A personal blog is like a baby. It needs your attention, your contribution with all your heart. Apparently, I am not a good parent as my Mum or my Dad is, so, one blog/one baby is more than enough.
So, maybe it is time to let this blog go a little bilingual. On second thoughts, it's this Bryan you know, too. I speak Chinese and English in daily life. (Well, I do hope to improve my Dutch, but to write blog with Dutch!? Another life, I guess…)
Anyway, to cut the bullshit, there will be an English section on my blog. It's definitely nothing to do with English teaching. But it will be about me, yes, moi, Bryan.
